Facilties Technician with a Bachelor’s degree or national
qualification at N5 level or higher in electronic,electrical or
mechanical engineering.
Strictly Affirmative Action A Bachelor’s degree or national qualification at N5 level or higher in electronic, electrical or mechanical engineering. Work experience as a technician working in electro-mechanical and RF fields as applicable for military facilities for example, radar systems. Be computer literate using spread sheets, word processing and general software. Experience in maintenance work on radar facilities used in military or R&D environments. Knowledge of radar systems and subsystems such as: RF front-end; receiver/exciter; radar signal and data processors; radar positioner; antenna; power supply; cooling subsystems; etc. Working ability, experience and skills in: soldering, welding, operating power tools and general workshop machinery. Ability to assemble, repair and maintain personal computers. Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software packages. Certification for training in Rigging and Heavy Lifting equipment. Ability to cope in a physically demanding environment. Be willing to get his/her ‘hands dirty’. Have a hands-on approach to solving problems. Be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual. Take ownership of task assignments and show initiative in their position. Require good communication skills and be fluent in English. Have a sense of urgency and a track record to deliver on brief, on budget and on time. Ability to work well under pressure as well as to work as part of a team. Be willing to work in a military environment. Be willing to work with a diverse range of local and foreign clients. | |
