FilmAid About: Since 1999, FilmAid has used the unique power of film to reach a large number of vulnerable people with important information in a visually appealing format, overcoming barriers of language and literacy.

FilmAid uses films that educate and entertain to attract public attention "to the subject that has become a major concern for the health and well-being.

FilmAid International has an operational presence in the Dadaab refugee camp, and is one of UNHCR's implementing partners. FilmAid is implementing several projects with funding from UNHCR and the U.S. government through the Office of Population and Migration (BPRM).

These projects are generally in line with the central region of the response of FilmAid Health, Department of Protection and the Community, and involves the production and dissemination of various videos.

Large influx of newcomers because of the persistent drought that hit the Horn of Africa and insecurity in Somalia has led to a higher rate of mortality among children under five years and increased rates of acute malnutrition, causing the "UNHCR to declare a state of emergency and set up a rapid response.

UNHCR has also revised the protocol for registration and the introduction of the registration / reception centers in the three areas as part of the agreement with high currents. FilmAid was co-opted to the technical committee overseeing the response, and attempts to answer through the development and distribution of new arrivals packs about 180,000 refugees who had arrived at the end of the project.

FilmAid is looking to recruit a security guard to ensure safety for all programs FilmAid. The security guards will provide leadership in all safety issues associated with the program FilmAid Dadaab.

The main responsibilities:

* Ensure the safety program for the Dadaab camps, providing leadership in all safety issues associated with the program FilmAid Dadaab.
* Regularly review and update security threats and provide recommendations for management.
* Monitor and control the provision of security personnel and equipment in all the films FilmAid FilmAid activities.
* Train and supervise a team of security guards, both nationally and refugees in situational awareness, crowd control, radio communications and security plans FilmAid.
* Implement and maintain the radio network FilmAid in key positions.
* Provide regular training, the implementation of safety plans and evacuation and regulation in the sector.
* Provide daily reports to the Manager of the security program verbally. It also provides summary reports weekly and monthly written report to all staff FilmAid.
* Conduct orientation for visitors, volunteers and staff on new safety guidelines FilmAid. Responsibility that all visitors aware of the procedures and follow them.
* Work closely with the government, UNHCR, LWF and security personnel to assess the threat to security in the camps and provide regular updates on this for the Program Manager.
* Investigate any accident or loss of property in the house of FilmAid in collaboration with the Program Manager.
* Continue to update and revision of existing evacuation plans, especially in Dadaab and survival
* Perform other duties that may be granted by the supervisor.

Requirements:

* Must be a Kenyan National.
* Degree in a relevant discipline (Advanced degree in social sciences or related technical fields such as military or police academy degree would be good.
* The military training course in question, or show the progression of the career in law enforcement with an emphasis on business planning and communication skills, combined with significant operational experience and practice of the United Nations would be an asset but not indispensable.
* A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in security management, preferably in the context of the experience of the police / military and the field is precisely the United Nations mission.
* The experience of the candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the ability to plan and operate under extreme pressure, high-level demonstration of leadership and ability to timely decision-making (with little margin for error). A high level of fitness will be required
* Experience in crowd control.
* Basic knowledge of radio networks.
* Flexibility in quick decision making
* Ready to work with minimal supervision with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ready to work long hours in difficult areas
* Team player, excellent interpersonal, organizational, multitasking and communication skills.
* Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
