InfoDev World program is looking for a high level of consultant time locally recruited (ETC) Program for the East African Climate Technology infoDev in Nairobi, Kenya.

Interface between innovation, technology entrepreneurship and opportunities for inclusive growth, poverty alleviation and job creation.
InfoDev the Climate Technology Program (CTP) is a global network of Climate Innovation Centres (CIC), a country approach to creating the climate change and allow the countries, their goals for green growth.
Each CIC provides venture capital financing, consulting and other services for SMEs, the domestic industry proactively and profitably innovative climate technology (cleantech), solutions to local development needs to provide.
The CIC is the first global network in Kenya to start in early 2012. Ethiopia, the CIC is scheduled for launch in mid 2012 after the CIC and others.
Reporting to the Coordinator of the CTP, the ETC technical support, advice and guidance of CTP in East Africa.

As a consultant in the country InfoDev first point of contact for Kenya and Ethiopia CIC host institutions, fund managers, venture capital, and the climate in East Africa Innovation Network (CIN), technical support and guidance for the implementation of the project and guidelines for consistency and compliance with the vision for the infoDev Network of CIC and the quality of care;
Working with the team in Washington CTP to ensure timely and accurate preparation of all required status reports, summary tables, extracts from the balance and keep the documentation of progress in the implementation of the CIC and CIN provide donors and other stakeholders;
Maintain a special focus on East Africa, the team supporting the development of a CTP's growth strategy and the annual work program for the CTP in East Africa, including short-term milestones, medium-and long-term effects and mechanisms of regular publication (including financial reports) to measure a framework for monitoring and evaluating the results and impact, as proposed strategic links with other programs and partners;
The cooperation with local technology community stakeholders in the climate of the East African countries, particularly Kenya, to ensure that the CTP is demand driven and responsive to customer needs;
With the CTP team in Washington, a close relationship with the World Bank / IFC networks, devices and regions, the alignment of the strategies of the country, the Bank Group, and the green growth and climate change strategies for Africa, to ensure;
InfoDev constitute participate and raise awareness of CTP in dialogue with governments, the private sector, civil society and other partners and stakeholders on green growth and infoDev Climate Technologies in collaboration with the Program Coordinator, Program Manager, infoDev, and the CTP team, as appropriate;
Support the research and analysis program for infoDev on Climate Technologies and green growth.
The ideal candidate must:
A master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 5 years from the World Bank and / or external experience;
Existing network of contacts and a strong understanding of the key actors / stakeholders and the technology landscape of the climate in East Africa;
Knowledge of the cleantech sector, including the recruitment cycles clean technologies from concept to commercialization;
Knowledge of appropriate mechanisms to support SMEs, including access to finance, public policy, as well as links to ecosystems and sustainable growth;
The experience, preferably in the private sector, the use of innovative technologies related to the environment in developing countries;
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex, multi-cultural teams in a matrix management environment;
Effective communication skills including the ability to articulate and persuasive speech, and to write concisely;
First-hand experience with the processes of the World Bank Trust Fund and the implementation of trust-funded activities is a plus.
It must work with its headquarters in Nairobi and in a position away from the office of the World Bank in Nairobi and the willingness and ability to 30% in Ethiopia and other countries in East Africa on the move.
