Finance Director, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa

Our client, The Nielsen Company is the world's leading provider of marketing information, and measuring components and services work globally and locally with the likes of Unilever, Coca Cola, Nestle, Nokia, and Procter & Gamble and Time Warner and Universal Studios. Headquartered in New York, has U.S., Nielsen and almost 34,000 members in over 100 countries around the world.

The company intends to strengthen its leadership team, with an innovative, experienced and business partners on the results of the financing for Sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa, in Nairobi. Nielsen in Africa includes more than 16 countries in East, West and Central Africa and is looking for another 20 countries in 2012 to expand.

The individual manages the entire spectrum of financial functions between the regions, to grow, including developing and implementing a financial strategy to the business, controlling, financial planning assistance, and it takes a strong finance team building talents.

The successful candidate will play an important member of the senior management team for sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa play an important role in the success of the company Nielsen in Africa.

Key responsibility

• Guidelines for the development and implementation of financial strategy, take the lead, risk management and financial advice to ensure in relation to business development, and action plans to cope with business commitments;
  
• Tips strategic initiatives and projects to support and reach to help business strategies;
  
• Continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures to promote effective cost controls across the enterprise;
  
• Responsible for all internal processes of finance, controlling, and storing the entire balance within the regions;
  
• Finances and plans for the local talent pipeline, coach, develop and deliver an added value of integration in the Nielsen;
  
• Ensure monthly, timely and accurate reporting, quarterly and annual costs / revenues by cost center and ensuring the regular updating of the forecasts in terms of changes in costs and revenues;
  
• Ensure timely submission of the declaration to the tax authorities in the regions and the annual storage of business data in the register if applicable;
  
• Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company and serves as an officer of the Company with respect to taxes on income and as Company Secretary on matters of law and as the Chief and his employer, who was curator of the pension funds and occupational safety and
  
• Applying the annual budget and strategic planning to plan.Act medium as a business partner for the Country Manager and other managers in the operational aspects of effective reporting, compliance with budgets and compliance with international strategies and approaches.

Knowledge and experience required

• At least a bachelor's degree with professional qualifications in accounting and / or financial management. Possession of an MBA education or equivalent is an advantage;
  
• A minimum of 10 years experience in financial management, 3-4, one of whom should the management / director level, preferably in a multinational company in the service;
  
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to both strategic and tactical work in management / leadership and management groups of workers;
  
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
  
• Excellent analytical skills - the ability of the financial results of operational performance drivers link and deliver value to the business insight and
  
• To take practical experience with SAP / Hyperion and strong ability will be an added advantage.
