NB: Analytical Chemistry essential

National Diploma/B-Tech/Tertiary qualification in Chemistry. Laboratory experience is non negotiable.

Proven ability to perform duties after undergoing on-the-job training and evaluation.
To undertake a broad range of specialist chemistry, environmental, and plant performance testing both in the laboratory and on industrial sites.
Accurate in testing and analyzing of samples
Deliver results at the end of the shift
Compare and verify CAS - instructions given from lab to landfill system for disposal methods
Responsible for management of stock
Calibration of instruments
Conform to quality management system ISO 17025
Report discrepancies of samples
Keep, control and maintain records of all samples and analysis
Assist with Tremcards and outside analyses orders
To perform analyses using authorized test methods and procedures.
Follow ISO/IEC 17025 quality system requirements.
To produce and record traceable, verifiable, analytical results and other relevant data.
To immediately report results that exceed laid down limits to the Laboratory Supervisor.
To identify any departures from the quality policy or procedures of the laboratory and to initiate actions to eliminate, prevent or minimize such departures.
To provide draft test reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.
To keep and maintain work-related records.
To do integrated planning and scheduling of own work.
To observe mutually agreed upon due dates.
To be familiar with the latest applicable technology developments.
To provide training and conversely, undergo training, as required.
To conduct investigations in order to provide specifications and procedures for chemical products, new methods or new equipment.
To carry out operational maintenance and upkeep of instruments and equipment.
To maintain quality, safety and tidiness in the laboratory.
To perform relevant administrative duties in respect of samples, stocks and reports.
To adhere to current policies and regulations.
To liaise with external organizations and authorities.
To manage safety and tidiness in laboratories.
To report to the Laboratory Manager.
