Livelihood Promotion Manager Job in Kenya - Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR)
African Virtual School Livelihood (VLSA) is a partnership and livelihoods market participants for the development of East and South Africa with financial support from the Ford Foundation.
And "tested in four countries - Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique and South Africa. International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) on behalf of the partners is the recruitment manager for the promotion of livelihoods (anchors) to guide the development of the school.
Bases
Livelihoods of the African Virtual School Initiative is a cooperative effort with four states to create a learning structure that can generate knowledge resources and learning tools for the achievement of sustainable livelihoods and measurable poverty reduction. Four pilot countries Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Mozambique.
After the feasibility study of the faculty of the School of Livelihood in India in April 2011, stakeholders from the four countries agreed at the start of work at the state structures will be collected through a series of virtual spaces support at school. The parties agreed to work through the levels of state and local team.
Each team is required to expand the working group of countries / study of the stakeholders will develop a plan to find the initial funding and conducting initial activities towards the establishment of schools.

Description of work
   1. Lead the development of Kenya living virtual school under the direction and supervision of the local advisory board (LAB) and the management team IIRR - IIRR is an "Nester"
   2. Develop strong partnerships and cooperation mechanisms between the partners who develop a virtual school of life as a reference center on local livelihoods and market development
   3. Organize and coordinate meetings of the Working Group of the State
   4. Develop proposals and coordinate with the LAB and IIRR to mobilize resources for funding / donor agencies to finance the development of livelihoods and promoting market development initiatives
   5. Coordinate research initiatives, school-related livelihoods, supporting documentation, publication and dissemination
   6. To guide the development / updating of manuals and training in collaboration with other relevant documents and coordinate the implementation
   7. Responsible for organizing the training program - a resource and liaison with other service providers, agents, personal training site, the identification and registration of candidates, to capture all the costs of the Budget "course teachers, and payments service, accounting, control in fact, the relationship with NGOs, businesses and others.
   8. Designing a sustainable model for the collection, storage and retrieval of existing and new information for easy access and use by professionals, students and researchers
   9. Market development and financial reports for the promotion of the elected

The desired candidate profile:
And vocational training: Master of Social Science, agricultural economics or business.
Experience: 7 years experience working in government, NGOs, private sector institutions of learning or the implementation of livelihood promotion / improvement projects, including facilitating awareness , financing and management.
Summary of key skills:
    * A mature person is able to coordinate the various agencies and deal with conflicts of interest of partner institutions
    * Experience or sense of fair operation of the system of government
    * Ability to remain transparent and participatory - not to judge able to have a vision rather than imposing personal views to facilitate ownership by partners
    * Good knowledge of the livelihoods of the situation and the scenario in Kenya and East Africa. Exposure to successful experiences in other places, it will be important
    * Good communication skills, presentation and documentation in English and Swahili
    * Concern for the poor and gender equality
    * An understanding of the political process and policy advice to government departments or work with institutions to influence the state
    * Good Financial Literacy: able to prepare budgets and interpret financial statements
    * Experience in the process of adult learning
    * Ability to develop educational programs and facilitate partners to appreciate the need for participatory training techniques
    * A commitment to promote human and social development
    * Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships and networks of community
    * Master the computer skills
